FELTING FOR ALL! (12pm on:)
Join us in making unique woolen treasures with the ancient craft of needle felting! Needle felting is the process of creating sculptures from wool fibers, using barbed felting needles. This event is for beginners and aspiring needle felting artists alike! No experience is necessary but seasoned felters are very welcome. Our vision is to generate enough gnomes, mushrooms, and other magical creatures so that each child crossing the Rosendale trestle with us at 4:44 will be able to receive one felted-with-love creation. Come join us with loved ones to make a sweet ornament/woolen treasure. Together we will work on creating woodland mushrooms, faeries, gnomes and much more that make an adorable ornament or gift.
MAKE A LANTERN: At 3:00pm learn make a magical handmade lantern and then join the luminous, musical procession on the nearby Rail Trail.
ALL DAY: Get to know the makers and listen to their personal stories about their processes, and why they are driven to express themselves through their hands. By supporting local artisans who make things in small batches we are also making a difference for the earth by encouraging natural, sustainably harvested materials and processes that have been passed down hand to hand. Through this, we are also helping to foster healthier, happier, more fulfilled humans!
Adults, children, and well-behaved pups are all welcome!
