The much-anticipated March O’ the Faeries festival returns to Uptown Kingston. Old Dutch Church, once again collaborating with the Circle Creative Collective, the Society for Creative Anachronism, and a bevy of fae-minded friends, are excited to welcome children of every age to the 2025 “March o’ the Faeries: A Celebration of Dandelions!”
Join us Saturday, April 26 from 11am to 3 pm at the Old Dutch Church, 272 Wall Street, Kingston NY for an afternoon of music, storytelling, crafts, food and a parade led by our very own Faerie Queen and Court.
Come craft your own crowns, wands and wings; help the Faeries with our Trash To Treasure Hunt; join in our parade; check out the Fae Folk houses exhibit, or BUILD YOUR OWN (see details below).
There’s truly room for all at this event. As always, it is 100% free to the public, and costumes and cosplay are encouraged.
Just bring your imagination, your sparkle, your family, and YOU!
WANT TO MAKE YOUR OWN FAERIE HOUSE?
APRIL 5TH WORKSHOP:
We’ll also be holding a fee house tutorial demo on April 5th from 1-3pm at The Old Dutch Church which will help and inspire you to create your very own magical building at home in honor of the Fae Folk. REGISTER HERE
BRING-YOUR-OWN FAE HOUSE GUIDELINES:
If you’d like to build a faerie house on your own and offer it to the Fae at the Faerie March:
1. Bases should be no larger than 12” x 12” (heights can vary).
2. Please use only natural materials, non-toxic adhesives and paint (avoid plastics, non-biodegradable or unwashed repurposed materials). IMPORTANT: * Please do NOT use glitter of any sort! *
3. Repurposed materials are also welcome and endorsed (think broken pots, outgrown boots, old buckets, water pitchers, or whatever other items that humans carelessly throw away could house the Fae).
4. Be creative and have fun!
Bring it…
5. Drop off completed house at the church prior, or bring them along with you, to the event.
6. On the day of the event (4/26/25), nestle your house on the church lawn in your most favoritist spot.
7. Feel free to take your Fae-Fun House home with you (just check for faeries living within it first!), or leave it as a donation to the Fae.
