Join us as we create captivating and inspiring masks in preparation for our upcoming Spring event, BLOOM: A Story of Rebirth, where participants will be invited to step upon candlelit paths and "join our visceral journey through the woods to be both witness and player on an exuberant full sensory experience where performance meets the sacred and celebration."
The vignettes or scenes along the path will build sequentially upon the one before to tell a complete story of rebirth personally and as a collective. Participants will emerge with new eyes, remembering we are each important, possessing urgent healing medicine for the planet, and for our own blooming. It’s a spectacle, an inspiration, and an offering to the Earth and our collective future.
In preparation for BLOOM we are calling on the hands and hearts of the community to join us in making unique and enchanting masks using paper mâché, paint, and recycled cardboard. Together we’ll learn how to construct many characters and creatures that participants will meet along their journey through the BLOOM performance. We’ll study traditional masks from around the world to inspire and celebrate their significance and impact on the world today.
You can either donate the mask you make to the event or commit to being part of the BLOOM performances on May 27 & 28.
